Redfish 2015

Redfish is a vacation I look forward to every year.  There is something so fun about traditions having the family all there and being in a place so beautiful.  We were excited to bring Liam this time! He just turned 4 months old!  We had his check up the Friday before we left.  He is still super tall 26.5" and is in the 94 percentile!  His weight is average at 14.1 lbs and is in the 48 percentile.  I have to say Redfish was a LOT more stressful for me, but I am still glad we got to introduce him to one of our favorite places! He also got to meet a lot of the family which was awesome!  We decided to go for a whole week!  He did awesome the first two days, then he got sick of the heat.  He didn't nap well and was pretty grumpy during the day.  It honestly broke my heart to hear him scream like that! We also think he is starting to teeth :(
Sunday we got there and set up camp.
Monday we hit the beach! The lake is usually freezing so we brought Liam his own little pool
He was more interested in how it tasted than swimming ;)
Tuesday started with a hike to our favorite spot!

Then we hit the beach again!  One thing about the Lund's is they never get sick of the sun!  They soak it all up!

We got the okay to give him some solids from the doctor!   So we let him have some watermelon! He is loving exploring new foods as you can see
Wednesday started out with a little yoga on the beach, then more soaking up the sun

That night we started our community dinners. Everyone loved playing with Liam.  He would laugh every time Alexa sang Miss New Booty lol

We started out Thursday with some paddle boarding in the morning!  It was gorgeous and so peaceful since we beat the crowds.

Friday we got up early to hike the ridge.  We caught a boat to the other side of the lake, hiked to the lily ponds and waterfall, then hiked the ridge back to the lodge.  It was about 6.5 miles and took about 4 hours.  Liam didn't love the boat ride but he slept almost the whole hike!

Afterward we hit the beach again! Aunt Lisa, uncle Bill, and cousin Syd loved holding Liam

That night, grandpa Lund told stories about where the Lund family came from and stories about his growing up.  The Lund's originated in Norway and Grandpa Lund was the first in his family to graduate college and go on a mission.  He had a scholarship for basketball, but didn't end up playing.
He also told us stories about his mom Utahna. This is a picture of their first one room home where Grandpa was born.
He was exhausted and slept from 8:30 that night to 7:00 in the morning!  That is the first time he slept through the night!

Saturday was the 4th and we just spent the day at the beach.  That night we went to the firework show and Liam slept through the whole thing!  I think he was just exhausted at that point and sick of camping for the week!  The temp was in the 90's the whole week!

Ready for the fireworks!

I'm so glad we made it through the week!  It was nice to be with the fam and have lots of help when he was crying.  Johnna, Isabel and Alexa were so much help!  I can't wait for next year when he will be running around!  Crazy!

Blanche Lake

Yesterday we hiked the Blanche Lake Trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon and we took our little 3 month old! We had no idea how he would do in his hiking backpack or the heat. We also had no idea how intense this was! Turns out we are the only ones we should have worried about!
The trail was gorgeous! It starts our following the river and everything is so green! There are some openings where you can look over the whole canyon! So stunning!

Well, it took us 3 grueling hours and one time getting lost, but we made it to the lakes! Trev was a trooper. That hike has a ton of steep elevation and is a good workout without an extra 30 lbs on your back!

Liam was perfect! He seemed to enjoy the pack and looking around. He ate about 20 minutes in then slept til we got to the top!  He ate at the top and slept almost the whole way down. He was one happy camper!

Suns Out Guns Out

We are loving this 80 degree weather! It gets pretty hot in the house though so Liam always wiggles his arms out of the swaddle and airs out those pits.
Trev had to work in Denver last week so Grandma kept us company!
We also visited her house and Liam loved the tramp. I would hold him and jump and he would just giggle!
We also took some mommy and me pics 😍
Our days lately have been running outside,
sucking our thumb,
sucking our toes,
hitting the pool,
being a cool kid,
hanging with Emmett,
a little Dubsmash to make us laugh,
and a fun activity when dad gets home from work-either tennis
 or golf
and if we are lucky we get snow cones :)
Aren't my boys so handsome? It doesn't get much better than this!

3 months and oh so charming

So much has changed since this little guy was born, that it makes it seem like he has been with us longer than 3 months!
He went from aimlessly flailing his arms to grabbing anything in front of his face and shoving it in his mouth. He used to fall asleep anywhere and everywhere and now he fights it because he is so alert and doesn't want to miss the party. He used to wake up every 3 hours to eat and now he sleeps, drumroll please...7-8 hours most nights. He used to smile and coo and now he still does that plus he loves to talk to us! And he is loud! He has laughed twice and it is the sweetest thing I have ever heard!

Our pool just opened so we took Liam swimming! He didn't make one facial expression haha. We aren't quite sure what he thinks yet.

It's the small details about him that I love. When he wants to nap he will bury his face into your armpit and his eyes just roll back. He also strokes your chest when he is falling asleep or nursing. He has quite the grip and loves tangling his fingers in hair and pulling. He gets the biggest grin when we stand him on his feet. He LOVES watching TV. He loves the tag blanket I sewed for him. He covers his face with it to sleep sometimes.  He loves sucking on his fingers. Sometimes so hard that he gags himself   Oh and he can almost fit his whole fist in his mouth 😆
Amber got married! Liam loves uncle Trev

The hard things:
He went on a nursing strike and wouldn't eat from me for about a week. It was so sad for me! He would scream and flail his arms anytime I would get him in nursing position. It would honestly break my heart. Luckily a little ice and silicone shield did the trick and he is back to nursing.
I love that he sleeps so long at night, but he hates to nap and I feel like I get nothing done during the day!  I love playing with him but I feel like if I check one thing off my to-do list then it was a successful day lol.
Trev and Me:
Our favorite time is in the morning when he is getting ready for the gym or work and Luam is awake. He is always so happy in the morning so we send dad off with smiles.
It is mountain biking season! My mom watched Liam one night so we could go for a ride. It is so green and gorgeous!

I am kicking my photography businesses up a notch. I am revamping my website and going to put a lot of focus on it to really get it going. It is something I love and am excited to start doing it more!

My First Mother's Day!

Believe it or not I somehow let Trev take me away from my baby for Mother's Day weekend. I couldn't imagine leaving my little 2 month old home for 2 nights! I had seperation anxiety the whole week before leaving. Grandma Lund drove to Bountiful to pick him up and we headed to Moab! I have to admit we had a lot of fun doing things we can't normally do together.
Trev and I went up Friday to ride our favorite mountain biking on Slickrock. That night Ryan Kellyn Blub and Izzy came up. We camped and went Jeeping and hiked to Delicate Arch. We had a blast, but I was definitely anxious to get back to Liam!
It was so good to see his smiling face on Mother's Day! I love being a mom so much. I love being able to take care of Liam all day and feel so blessed that I am able to. Even the "bad" days are a blessing and it's crazy how one big smile can make your whole day worth it.

2 Months Old

Liam is officially 2 months old! It is bittersweet. Part of me wants him to stay little forever, but it is so fun to watch him get bigger and do new things. Trev and I still find time to do fun things we just bring little guy with us. We love when dad chips and putts and we walk around in the stroller. We also went to a Bees baseball game and I wrapped him in his baby wrap and he just slept on my chest the whole time. He is really a chill baby and is so good when we go out.
A few fun facts about our little bug. He loves being naked and is all smiles on the changing table. He found his voice and loves to baby talk with us. He also found his hands and tries to stuff both fists in his mouth. The play mat is his favorite thing ever. He can kick the crinkley leaf and play on it for hours. He definitely cries more at night when he is tired, but doesn't want to sleep. As soon as we start to get frustrated he will shoot us a smile or little laugh and we just have to look at each other and laugh because it is the cutest thing. We love him more and more each day!!!
