A [SANDY] White Christmas!

For Christmas this year the Lund's took the family to Puerto Rico!  It was weird to have a warm holiday season without any snow, but the Puerto Ricans brought the Christmas spirit with lots of decorations on their homes, palm trees, and huge set ups along the highways.
Day 1:  Eric, Isabel, Alexa, Trev and I flew out on the 15th to have just a couple of extra days of sunshine. Alexa ruptured her achilles a couple of months ago so she was in a boot the whole trip :( We had a great hotel that was only a couple of blocks from San Juan beach with huge waves!  We quickly made friends with the Coconut and Ice Cream man!  That night we had a true Puerto Rican dinner with Mufango, Paiella, and a Christmas tradition with roasted pork and plantains.

Day 2: San Juan Beach take two!! We loved playing in the waves so much the first day that we decided to head back on day two!  For dinner we took the short drive to Old San Juan and found the cutest pizza place!
Day 3: We still couldn't get enough of playing in the waves so we headed back for more!  The swells were getting bigger and bigger each day so it was pretty intense.  We also picked up Johnna, Scott, and Ashli and headed to our resort in Loiza.
Day 4: El Yunque Rainforest and Luquillo Beach!
Day 5: Golf Day!  The boys went golfing, the girls went to the beach, and I was the ride along photographer for the boys.  The golf course was a PGA course that was right along the beach.  They greet you at the first hole with hot towels and bottled water.  The boys were in heaven to say the least!
Day 6: We took the rest of the family to San Juan Beach to play in waves!

Day 7: El Morro in Old San Juan.
Day 8: Culebra.  We took the fairy ride for an hour out to a little beautiful island called Culebra!  This was more in the Caribbean side of the ocean and the beaches were breathtaking!!!  We spent most of the day snorkling and saw sea turtles, sting rays, eels, starfish, squid, and some sweet fish!   The good snorkling was on Tamarind beach and the other beach we went to was one of the top rated in the world called Flamenco Beach.
Day 9: This was our last real day and we made the best of it.  We made up a coconut bowling game and just played on the beach all day! That night we had our Christmas Eve dinner and got our little gifts.  We also watched a movie the kids made for Johnna and Scott for their Christmas present.

So long Puerto Rico!!! You will be missed!
