The 15 new inches of powder treated us to the best day at Beaver!  We got up early and were so stoked.  At the end of the day Chez and Aaron guided Trev and I down the backside for our first time! We were a little nervous but so excited.  It kept getting tougher and tougher and the visions of pure powder were still only visions.  The trail was skinny and had lots of little trees.  After about 45 minutes of boarding through the cat walks, our journey came to an abrupt stop when Trev's shoulder caught the branch of a dead tree and toppled him off the trail and into the base of a pine tree.  He was up to his shoulders in powder!  After at least a half hour of struggling out of that, he made it back to the trail.  It was false hope though because even on the trail the powder sunk his steps up to his hips.  Chez and I came to the rescue to help him out.  We ended up sledding out of it on our boards :)  Finally we came to a clearing and after about 5 minutes of the good powder we were dreaming of, we came to the road.  Trev had never been so happy to get his board off and relax!  We laugh about it now, but we all know what a scary and frustrating feeling it is to be stuck in powder.  Even after all of that, we loved the day and were happy to say we conquered the backside :) It was quite the adventure!
